A Tribute to the Olympians from the
In gymnastics there is no Super Bowl. There is no World Series or Stanley Cup. For gymnastics it’s all about the Olympic Games. Of course there are ways to triumph on the way to the games: international competitions, national championships, and world championships. Let’s face it though; if the gymnast is good enough to be at this level then their goal is to make the Olympic Games.
Only six men and six women make the Olympic team every four years. The gymnasts have battled everything from each other, to injuries, to fear to make the team. Of course now the pressure really starts. Some gymnasts triumph in the moment and others falter. Some gymnasts will come out of the Olympics and will never be forgotten. Others were merely helping the team to place as high as they possibly can. This site is a tribute to those athletes. It is also a tribute to the gymnasts that were there but did not quite get the dream, such as the alternates and the 1980 Olympic team. I hope you enjoy the site and come back often.
