A distant time long ago, a distant almost faded memory that sometimes surfaces with hazy images of a time lost. Just like a mighty oak whose roots run deep and wide into the earth, we as a people long to return and claim the roots we have lost, abandoned, or forced to leave by no choice of our own. We reach out vicariously through the efforts and memories of others in order to fulfill our own desires to reconnect and heal the severed roots we left behind...
