About Me
Hi everyone! I'm Florentin Riyanto, a 14-year-old girl who lived in Indonesia. I was born in a Catholic family, but since I study in a Christian school, my point of view to God is kind of different than other Catholics. I think that's a brief about me, and before moving to why this website is in front of you, let me remind that I got 5 out of 7 in my English class; my grammar sucked. So apologies for all of you who wants to read perfect English, I can't give that.
About The Website
This website was quite inconsistent in the past years. I made it in 2005, and it only consist of Homepage, Diary page, Love Advice page, and Guestbook. Shortly explained, it was made for fun. But my life seems to be filled with problems and emotional events, I started to change the theme of the website based on templates and my own mood. I think this is my sixth times to change the theme of the website, but this time I'll try to make this website stable, just the way it is.
About Cuz I Am The Change
I was inspired by a lot of things after my Spiritual Retreat with my school grade. The first one that inspired me is a comic made from Chicken Soup stories. I forgot what does it called but it was so easy to understand that it stuck in my head. It taught me that to change the world, I'm the one who need to change first. Then suddenly it clicked, a statement has been made, I AM THE CHANGE. Think about it. When you do something that you never did before, like smiling to other people who never talk to, you already change their face, their heart, and your heart. If you're asking yourself, "Why should I do that?", be brave enough to make the statement, "Because, I AM the change. Without changing myself, the world would not change too."
Second thing that inspired me is a music video by Daughtry, shown by a pastor from Surabaya in my retreat session. You can see it below. Download the song as free as you want. It's called 'What About Now'.
...before it's too late. How it struck my head at that session, I still remember how it felt like. This video inspired me to make the motto of this website. See it on the bar up there.
The third thing is, my relationship with God. I realized that I've been hating myself and God for so long, even though I'm in my school's chapel band, and I went to church and joined the church choir and try to do as much as ministry as I can. I started to over think everything and it made my faith fading from time to time. I was not able to focus to my purpose of following God, and bad things started to piled up in my mind. Being possessive, cruel, and selfish. But thank God, he worked in different ways, He sent someone (two actually) that can help me to start a fresh page, to believe and depend on Him once more. I hope by His grace, these feelings and purposes would not fade in weeks, months, or years. Let it be forever.
