This site looks back at the history of Old Stacians Cricket Club, who were one of the leading clubs in the Ashford area of Kent for more than 60 years. At the end of the 2007 season the club folded by way of a merge with Ashford Cricket Club.
On this site you will find results, photos, averages and stats and other items from throughout the lifespan of the club.
It is my sad duty to report the recent passing of two club members. One of early members Michael Stokes(career 1953-63) died recently. Michael took 231 wickets for the club, with a best of 8-28 at Saltwood on June 30th 1957. Whilst on August 19th a large turnout of former players attended the funeral service of our long serving Treasurer Colin Sibbald who had been with the club since 1968. Strangely as I write these notes, the day after the funeral, it is 31 years ago to the day on August 20th 1978 that Colin captured his career best bowling performance with 8-32 at Rodmersham, which helped him to 195 career wickets for the Club.
We hope you you enjoy, your visit and former players and supporters are welcome to leave a message on our guestbook
Throughout 2009 hopefully all the archives on file will be uploaded as a lasting tribute and record of one of the finest clubs in Kent
