The Adventures of the Little Koala

Plot
The Adventures of the Little Koala was about a Koala named Roobear and all his friends and family. Roobear's mom and dad were Mommy and Papa, and he had a little sister named Laura. His friends were Floppy and Mimi (rabbits), Pamie and Nick (penguins), Betty (a koala), Walter (a kangaroo), (Duckbill a platypus), and Kiwi (a kiwi bird). This show was mainly about Roobear and his daily life and such. I assume that he also learned a life lesson in every episode, but I don't quite remember. The only thing about this show that I remember is that Roobear and his friends go to a museum and he gets his finger stuck in a vase (which I see now must be "The McGillicuddy Vase" episode). He doesn't tell anyone and when dinner time comes he can't eat (or else he might reveal the vase stuck on his hand).

Theme Song:

Brand new day, time to play with Roobear and his friends.
Where summer never ends.  Koalas show you how to
fly a plane, catch a wave, there's nothing we won't try.
Lots to do, fun starts here with you and me...
Look up there, way up high, koalas in balloons,
laughter's on its way to you...
Laura, Nick and Roo, Mimi and Floppy, too…waiting here for you.
Brand new day, time to play with Roobear and his friends.
The fun and laughter never ends.
Koalas lead the way...on a sunny day...we all love to play...

ALL THAT!

If you think comedy and hip-hop music don't go together, the cast of Nickelodeon's "All That," is gonna take you to school! "All That" is sketch comedy performed entirely by kids who aren't afraid to look at life from a completely wacked-out perspective. Take Ashley, for example, the sweet, lovable advice person who has ZERO tolerance for STUPID questions. And then there's Coach Kreeton, one of the most miserable (and funniest!) human beings you'll ever have the misfortune of meeting. And of course, who could forget Miss Fingerly, the clueless teacher who's a fountain of flawed information. In the midst of the madness, you'll find today's hottest young hip-hop groups providing rhythms that go right along with the fast-paced comedy. Crazed comedy and rhythmic rap—that's "All That."

Banannaman

This is 29, Acacia Road. And this is Eric, the schoolboy who leads an exciting double life. For when Eric eats a banana, an amazing transformation occurs. Eric is Bananaman. Ever alert for the call to action.
Here we have Eric, your average run of the mill pathetically weak schoolboy. Even though he is a pathetic puny , he has at least got a single brain-cell. But when Eric eats a banana, he trades whatever brains he has for pure muscle and becomes Bananaman.
This is your typical super-hero type story. A normal person, leading a normal life transforms into someone or something that is capable of saving the world from whatever disaster hides around the corner. Only difference is that normal super heros? do have an IQ higher than their shoe size. If Bananaman?s IQ was any lower, he?d trip over it. But saying that, he does get the job done. Usually with the help of his side-kick Crow, who tries to breath a little bit of intelligence into the under-worked banana-brain.
Bananaman is an absolute classic. It?s just pure silliness, with some very poor (and very predictable) jokes thrown in for good measure.

Count Duckula

To a small child vampires are a scary thing. Well they were to me anyway. So, if a children?s cartoon was to be made about this very subject, what could they do to tame the horrific topic. Hmmm, first of all, let?s make it not a bat, but a duck. Alright, yes a duck is less threatening than a bat, but to be quite frank with you a duck is still a menacing thing, especially when you have a slice of bread in your hand. Those buggers despite having no teeth still have a vicious bite.
So, what else can be done? Why not make the vicious vampire duck less vicious by making it a vegetarian. Yes, that?ll work.
The story goes like this? When a vampire duck is killed usually by a stake (no, not the juicy rump variety) through the heart, or exposure to sunlight, it can be bought back to life by means of a secret ritual. The latest reincarnation didn?t go according to plan though. One of the things involved in the process is blood. Only problem is that the dumb nanny picked up a bottle of ketchup instead. This slight mix up gave birth to a vegetarian vampire duck, a very funny cartoon, and David Jason?s finest hour. Count Duckula!
Each episode revolves around Castle Duckla, and it?s inhabitants. First of all, obviously there is the Count Duckla himself. As already mentioned, he doesn?t follow in the footsteps of his ancestors because he is a vegetarian, and likes all things nice and tidy.
Then there is Egor, the Count?s man servant. He?s a little disappointed in Duckula due to his food preferences and the fact that he doesn?t like all things gloomy and horrible. All the same, he still has a job to do, and must look after his master.
And then there is Nanny. A large hen who is more clumsy than a Labrador that has just drunk six pints, and has an IQ that if it was any lower she would trip over it.
Take these three characters, add a few silly and some times surreal jokes, and you have one of the best cartoons ever made.
It leaves to me to say to you now, good night out there, whatever you are.

Danger Mouse

Dangermouse (or DM as he was known to others), was a white mouse who worked for the British Government as a secret agent/hero (well he wasn't that secret! - you and me know about him).  His immediate boss was called Colonel K (sounds a bit James Bond to me??), who contacted DM via a video screen, when he needed to give him a mission - mostly to save the world! (I think Colonel K was a Hamster - I could be wrong!).  DM was followed (or is that supposed to be aided) on his missions by his faithful sidekick Penfold, who was a professional coward, and always seemed to attract trouble like a magnet.

Most of the time Dangermouse was battling against his arch rival - Baron Greenback.  A Toad that was evil to the core and was always trying to take over the World, oh and kill DM as well.  But as with all megalomaniacs, it didn't always work!  The Baron was assisted in his diabolical deeds by and Italian Crow called Stiletto, who wore a trenchcote and called the Baron - 'Baronee' (Ba-ron-ee).  Lets not forget Greenbacks pet, who sat on his desk, trying to avoid his fists when he got angry.  He looked like a white furry slug - which sounds like the white cat used by the baddie in James Bond.  All of these baddies flew around in Baron Greenbacks machine called the Frogshead Flyer.

DOUG!

Life isn't always a barrel of laughs for Doug Funnie. He's just started junior high in a new school, he gets pushed around by a bully named Roger Klotz, and he's not exactly a smooth talker around his dream girl, Patti Mayonnaise. But if there's one thing Doug's good at it's creative thinking. He's like a warehouse of imagination packed into a V-neck sweater—which is a good thing, since he always seems to wind up in some sort of a jam. It might not always be easy, but with the help of his dog Porkchop and his best friend Skeeter, Doug usually ends up landing on his feet. And if he surprises some people along the way, well, no one is quite as surprised by Doug as Doug himself.

GUMBY

back.jpg (5823 bytes)

The 1950's Gumby claymation series has always startled and amazed with its imaginative plots and characterizations. The playful worlds (and moods) created by the steady artistry of Art Clokey (Gumby's creator) continue to mesmerize the youthful hearts and minds of millions.

Gumby is cheerfully captivating - with episode titles like Chicken Feed, Hot Rod Granny, The Zoops, Moon Trip, and King for a Day. The adventures of Gumby (and his pals Pokey, Prickle & Goo) will forever be etched in your mind, so don't miss out. The charactors were Gumby, Goo, The blockheads, Prickle,Pokey and the professor.

Trivia: The shape of Gumby's head was inspired by an old family photo of Art Clokey's father, Arthur Farrington, at age 18, which showed a rather large cowlick on one side.

QUOTES:

Gumby: Do you want to try it, Pokey?
