OLD MONMOTHIANS BOAT CLUB
The purpose of the OMBC is to provide an opportunity to the members to meet, socialise and race with each other and to provide members with a continuing link to the waters on which they learnt to row and to the School rowing club.
It is also the purpose of the club to promote Welsh rowing and to provide a network of contacts to the recent alumni of Monmouth School to provide them with advice/assistance in continuing their rowing careers.
The principle competitive events will be the regattas of the late May and August Bank Holiday Weekends.
For the above the purpose, the club, although sometimes administered from elsewhere and with its members dispersed across the world, hereby declares that its home is the waters of the Wye at Monmouth and is therefore affiliated to the Welsh Amateur Rowing Association and aims to promote Welsh rowing.
The club colours are chocolate and white and will display the school’s “lion” badge in recognition of our alma mater.
The current racing kit is in the form of zephyrs which may be worn over the member’s current club’s all-in-one/shorts in recognition of their loyalty to that club.
