Olde Meadowe Menagerie

Breeder of Quality, Registered Havana Rabbits

Welcome to Olde Meadowe Menagerie!

Located in North Central Wisconsin, Olde Meadowe Menagerie is a small to mid-sized rabbitry composed of 45 holes which specializes in Chocolate Havanas.  In addition to the Havana, other breeds raised are Japanese Harlequin and Shaded English Lop.   O.M.M. has previously raised and shown Harlequins ('96, '97,'01), Netherland Dwarfs, American Sables ('00 - '01), and of course Havanas ('97 - '01).  With limited cage space raising several breeds and varieties can be difficult, but rest assured quality is number one.  Breeding, raising, and showing quality, registered stock insures success on both the show table and in the nest box.  Although the coveted BIS has not yet been achieved, several BOB have been awarded to every breed raised here at O.M.M.

Thank you for visiting and please feel free to visit often!

A little about me:

My name is Michael.  When in elementary school chicken eggs were incubated in the school's library.  Little did I know that adopting one of those chicks would snowball into something great.  I was fortunate to have grown up in the country with five and a half acres of land at my disposal.  The chicken flock grew and it eventually turned into a small family business.  Soon after followed rabbits, ducks, geese, and turkeys.  As the years went on the Menagerie grew.  Hoof stock began to graze the grounds.  This included dairy and pygmy goats, sheep, swine, calves, and even a pony.  Raising such a diversified collection of critters allowed me to meet alot of interesting people.  As I grew older I began to become more serious in how and what I raised.  Exoctic breeds started to make an appearance as well.  My interest in animals led me to pursue a degree in the Agricultural field and upon graduating high school  I studied Animal Science at one of the UW colleges.  Much of the animals were liquidated at this time.  The sale of the pygmy goat herd actually paid for my first semester tuition.  Much has changed since then.  Currently my interests lie in showing the rabbits with my niece Sydnee and horticulture.  Perennials and landscaping are especially of interest to me.
