Solve the MyStery

Many people came up with slogans as to what should go on the magnet, and what the magnet should look like.

The silver/prism background for the magnet was chosen because it was felt that the changing colors in the prism reflected the changing ways that Multiple Sclerosis affects everyone with this disease, as well as the different ways it can affect one person to another.

The slogan "Solve the MyStery - Cure Multiple Sclerosis" was chosen after many entries had been submitted and polled, and this was the slogan that best represented what everyone felt. 

One very special lady, Gina, took the whole "wouldn't it be nice if...." to the next level, and actually got this magnet produced, took orders, and shipped to everyone who wanted one.  It was a huge success, and those of us who were part of the creation of this magnet, as part of the group, hold it dear to our hearts, and remember the fun time we had getting this all together.

Attempts were made at the highest level to have this magnet be the "official" magnet for Multiple Sclerosis, but that was not to be.

Shortly before Christmas 2007, I became aware of a non-profit group that was planning to give gift packages to volunteers on the MSWorld message boards as a thank you for all the time and effort they put into keeping the message boards a great place for people seeking resources and information about Multiple Sclerosis.  This group, "Our Heart Greeting" http://www.ohgreeting.com/, is in the process of gathering gifts for people, beyond the message board volunteers' campaign, and gives anonymously to those who need some light and whimsy in their lives, to ease the grieving hearts of others, to cheer up someone who had received bad news, to bring a few moments of happiness to someone to let them know they are cared for - a truly altruistic group.

March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness month, and, having been invited to be a member of Our Heart Greeting, and learning of their postcard campaign to help with awareness of Multiple Sclerosis, I decided to use our slogan from 2005, and designed two postcards to send out to raise awareness. 

At the same time, it seemed like a wonderful opportunity to see if we could get those same lovely car magnets resurrected and back into circulation, and the response to this campaign thus far has been wonderful!  So many people from the original 2005 "brainstorming" for the magnets are thrilled that we might actually be able to do it again!

The magnets will be $7 per magnet. This  includes packaging and postage, and is the same price as  in 2005.  All proceeds after cost will be donated to organizations for multiple sclerosis research, multiple sclerosis awareness and, of course, NMSS!

Preferred payment(number of magnets requested multiplied by $7) is by personal check or money order.

It will be 3 weeks or so until the magnets are shipped to me, so if you want to get them ASAP, please send the checks out! Magnets will be shipped upon receipt of payment.

That brings you right up to date to where we stand today -The Magnets have been resurrected and are ON THEIR WAY!!!
