Brief History
Cadena de Amor Chapter No. 16, Order of the Easter Star in Cagayan de Oro City started as a group of ladies of Masons, organized as the Lilies of the Valley. On November 28, 1976, this group with some brethren from Macajalar Lodge No. 184, Maguindanao Lodge No. 40 and other Mason's wives convened at the Maguindanao Masonic Temple, thus the birth of the OES Chapter in the city.
The Chapter was instituted on April 9, 1978, presided over by the Most Worthy Grand Patron Eduard A. Bellis. Assisting in the Ceremony were the officers and members of Ma. Cristina Chapter No. 13, OES of Iligan City, who exemplified the ritualistic works of the Order. In attendance were eighty one (81) members and Sis Alice F. Bellis of the General Grand Chapter. Its first Initiation Ceremony for the new seven members was held on July 29, 1978.
