The rebuild started about 3 weeks ago. I got my odyssey off craigslist. The engine had the cylinder bored .060 over, increasing the displacement to 280cc. Brand new piston, rings, and bearings.
Update: Engine started and ran great!! But then crankshaft bent, now in search for a new engine.
7/24/07: Welded seat mounts, exhaust mount and front rack
7/26/07: Went off to Liberty Sandblasting. Will be sandblasted, then painted with industrial silver paint that doesn't chip or scratch.
8/08/07: Should be back from Sandblasting and Paint today. New lower end was found, was replaced with the larger piston and bored cylinder. Cylinder and Head were both bead blasted clean. Gearbox has been rebuilt and 90w gear oil has been added, paint black for looks. Tires were mounted on front rims. Dont have the money for the rear tires right now.
8/14/07: Picking up frame tomorrow. Purchased gas tank in almost brand new condition (pictures under new tires/parts) along with fuel pump, steering wheel cover and headlight.
8/19/07: Now I'm at school and progress is slowing down. A view pictures of the painted frame are up. Front J arms were installed. Tie Rods need bead blasting and black powdercoat. I will post a list of everything I need/want and parts I have got and what I paid for them. Please sign the guestbook.
8/23/07: Ordered Duro mud and Sand rear tires. Ordering the rest of my parts through servicehonda.com so come labor day, majority of the rebuild should be complete. Pictures of the tires are up.
8/27/07: Going back to sandblast and paint because of poor job. Primer was showing in a few spots so its going back on 8/28/07. After labor day weekend, there will be a lot more pictures up of new parts and new rear tires.
9/2/07- Front wheel bearings and seals mounted, seals and bearings in axle carrier inserted in, gear oil in gearbox. Next time to work will be the 28th of September. Hopefully, will here it run and get to ride it them!!!!
9/17/07- Back from paint finally done right, Front suspension along with tie rods and steering mounted. Rear axle carrier and gearbox mounted, engine mounted.
10/5/07- Everything is back together. Still lacking an air filter and still don't know if the carb needs a rebuild. I will post a lot of pictures hopefully along with a video of the breakin process and also me driving it. This is if all goes as planned. I know i Have spark its just the gas aspect now.
10/8/07- Got the engine to start, fuel pump is working great, but everything i need to start it it requires me starting a starting fluid to get it running. Any Help? But it was running lean so i rejetted it and now just need to get the idle and air/fuel screw set and im off. Also their is a slight exhaust leak right by the manifold that high temp silicon will solve.
4/22/08- New Year new thoughts. Going to replace bored piston and cylinder with stock piston and stock cylinder. Need to find carb off a running odyssey and intake manifold. I promise it will be running this summer before July!!
8/10/08- After what I thought would be a running odyssey a major air leak through a crank seal was discovered. On order from pilot & odyssey performance. Deal with Curtis he is a great guy! Cranked case and removed crank. Will be added a detailed tutorial to my new odyssey site. Should have a good update come here within the next few weeks.
