MSN 6 ANIMATED EMOTICONS

Curently msn 6 beta has 11 animated emoticons. The emoticons are saved as PNG file types.
The PNG files are located in the msnmsgr.exe file.

Skinning the PNGs
1) Find the PNG you want to replace in Resource Hacker. Click here for visual aid.
2) Go to
Actions ->
Save Resource as a binary file
Call it "something.png".
It would be best to call the filename whatever the number of the png your saving is, so its easier to identify. Click here for visual aid.
3) Open up an image editing app that will handle PNGs, I used "Photoshop" but "The GiMP" works too and "Paintshop Pro".
4) Edit the file to whatever you want it to look like in Messenger, save it, then go back to Resource Hacker.
5) Delete it, but make sure you remember the directory number - its between 212 and 1062 - if its not then your in the wrong place!
6) Then, in Resource Hacker, go to Action -> Add A New Resource in the menu, and enter this:
Resource Type: "PNG"
Resource Name:"*PNG NUMBER*"
Resource Language: "1033"
(Without the speech marks)

7) Make sure Messenger is FULLY closed and save the file as "msnmsger.exe" (without speechmarks)
Then your PNG will be skinned :D
8) Repeat for each PNG file you want to edit.
