About the Artist
Welcome to my site. I am currently living in Kratzerville, PA. My name is Beth Amy, and I have a BFA in Art Studio with a concentration in Drawing. This often surprises people, however I believe that if you can not draw it well, you will never paint it well.
I grew up in Central PA as the second of four children. As a child, the walls of our house were always covered in murals. My mother loved to paint and seems to have passed that trait on to me. Being a preacher's kid, I remember often sitting in church and drawing on any piece of paper I could get my hands on. I always wanted to be an artist and share the gifts that God has given me.
Painting on a large scale "happened" when I was in high school. I was asked to help with the musical sets and soon discovered that the 20x40ft. backdrops were really fun to paint. I have never had to use grid systems or projectors to get my perspectives, it has always just come naturally. After graduation I went back to my high school for several years to do backgrounds, that is when people began to approach me about painting in homes and businesses.
I am often asked what I like to paint. My response? If you can imagine it, I can paint it. Challenge me!!
