| #OpenBsd is not just a help channel, but a great place to chat & meet new people!
We are the first & only OpenBsd Assistance Channel. Openbsd, FreeBsd, MicroBsd, are all areas of help in #Openbsd When you are in #Openbsd, you'll notice several things about our humble channel, the topics in our channel are not always something "professional", we like to chat about how our day was, depending on amount of users needing help we also assist with general questions, newbie help, etc. Strike up a conversation, we love to chit chat! Something we do in #Openbsd is conduct training, if you are chosen to be an autovoice or operator in #Openbsd, you will be asked to go to #Bsd, where you will generally direct people to the help channel(s) they need. #Bsd is the bsd base channel and gets lost users trying to find help with netbsd, openbsd, freebsd, microbsd, etc. While in training you will be oped in #bsd, and serve as an autovoice in #Openbsd, once completed, you'll be promoted in #Openbsd, and staying with #Bsd is your decision. The founder (owner) of #Openbsd is atch. Keith in the real world. He has been around DALnet since 1996, and has been the founder of #Openbsd since July 2nd, 2004. The channel was closed down in June of 2004 when the previous owners nick expired causing the channel to de-register, the new owner abused the networks policies, causing it to get closed for a month. After the month had completed the channel was reopened, leaving atch to register it. #Openbsd has been through a great deal of changes, however we have emerged from 5 users to peaking at nearly 40 some evenings. Since this is our temporary site, we ask that you take a moment and check over everything. Get to know what #Openbsd is all about. Our rules, our staff, our mission, etc. Browse this site to become familiar with how we do things, the rules of the channel, rules our AOPs and SOPs must follow, or perhaps apply to become an AOP in #Openbsd. Questions not addressed on-site or comments may
be directed to
the founder of #Openbsd - all emails are responded to within 48 hours (2 days). Please try and contact atch in #Openbsd, before sending any emails. |
