MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD:

Dear OVC Family,

We would like to welcome you and your family to a fun and exciting 2009 swim season at OVC. The past winter months were not too harsh on us, but the warm, sunny weather of summer is just around the corner. We look forward to those lazy days of summer when our kids no longer need to get up to catch a bus for school, lunches don’t need to be packed and the hustle and bustle of family activities can slow to a mellow crawl. June, July, and August are the months that we can relax and enjoy the days at OVC. But before we can go to OVC for a swim, there is a lot of prep work to be done.

As the OVC Board, we have been hard at work planning all winter for the 2009 swim season and we are committed to Oakwood Valley's success. As a self-managed pool, our labors are virtually endless. We need volunteers to help us with the daily pool maintenance, managing our guard staff, cutting the grass, cleaning up the areas and parking lot. In the spring we need the entrance lane and parking lot cleared of leaves and debris, grass cut, leaves gathered, pools cleaned and painted, chairs scrubbed, and the list goes on and on. These tasks may seem trivial or may be taken for granted in knowing that someone is getting it done, but we need your help. On our website, we have included a schedule of our work party dates. Many hands lighten the load, and we're asking for at least six hours of your efforts to help us do the work of many.

Our social calendar is full of fun activities for everyone in the family. We have movie nights, volleyball games, adult socials, raft nights and pot luck dinners. These events are open to everyone at OVC, so please make it a memorable season at OVC and bring your family out to enjoy the sun, fun and company of others.

We would also like to remind you to ask your friends and neighbors if they would like to become members of OVC.  Remember that a referral will result in a discount on your membership fee.  We are always looking for new membership.  And our existing members are a good source of marketing for OVC.  So if you know anyone looking for a a place to get away for the summer and relax, let them know about OVC.

In closing, we would like to remind everyone to get your membership payments in on time. This helps us with meeting operating expenses for the season.
