Many Oaklanders will recognize our new Police Chief as a familiar face. Norm Counts served Oakland as Police Chief back in the mid-90's and has returned to continue the process of rebuilding the department.
Norm has over 38 years of full time police experience serving small towns throughout Oregon and served at one time as the Sheriff of Lincoln County.
Norm has always had a strong commitment to training reserves. While here previously, many of his reserves went on to full-time jobs in law enforcement throughout Douglas County. One is now a detective with the Roseburg Police Department. |
