We formed our association about 12 years ago to promote our form of speedway which is definitely not knew.

We in this country have been racing around dirt ovals, dirt roads, beaches, grass paddocks etc, since the first

Motorcycles hit our shores.

Speedway was huge and Christchurch alone had four or five tracks.

A lot of those that rode these tracks “raced what they brung”, stripping the lights etc, racing, reassembling the machines and riding home.

It took a while for specialized speedway sliding machines to become the motorcycle speedway class, but until they did , you raced what you had.

That’s what we are all about.

Affordability

Our machinery varies depending on how much time you have to put into the machine, how much money you want to spend, how fast you want to go or even how cool you need to be.

At the end of the day we all end up racing our machinery having a hoot like you are supposed to, make new mates or adversaries, meet again next time at another speedway and do it all again, usually on machinery that has cost a few hundred bucks or even less,

Some of our machines have been no more than commuters in their previous lives, some older and left behind performance machines,,some cruisers and the odd special

That doesn’t mean that you cant turn up with a real Mcoy flat tracker with all the shit, we will still race you
