R & J Chinchilla Rescue

We were introduced to chinchillas a number of years ago when we rescued Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. 

We have continued to rescue these lovely creatures and endeavour to try and find new ‘forever’ homes for them whenever possible. 

We spend time settling them in, improving their well-being and getting to know them and once the chinchillas are in good health and condition we arrange to re-home them, although, sadly, this is not always possible.

Some of our rescued chinchillas are unable to go on to new forever homes—this is mainly due to ill health. These stay with us and we try to make them as comfortable as possible for as long as we can.

The chinchillas are re-homed with the condition that they are NOT used for breeding, we hope to begin a programme of neutering shortly.

We never turn a chinchilla away.

Over the years we have accumulated a vast knowledge of chinchilla health and welfare and we continue to learn every day.
