name is Sarah and I live in Tokoroa, New Zealand. Hello and welcome to my site, I hope you find this site useful and it also helps many people and chins alike!
All my Information has been deeply and professionally researched and studied, unless stated all my information has solid evidence and proof backing it up. This is how I work and I strongly believe in having facts rather than opinions on my site, after all it is to help the Chinchilla and people.I have
made this website primarily as a resource for all chinchilla breeders, owners, Veterinarians,
and other people alike who need/want reliable, solid and up to date information or need to do research whether
it be in depth research or just basic, before and after buying a Chinchilla
whether you intend to Breed, Show or just as a Pet, as well as having a site
for the NZ Chinchilla Rescue, and other things it is in support of.
I also encourage other people to get involved and add their bit to this site, whether it be Product Reviews, Links, Information and Suggestions, Memorials, Tell your stories so others can learn, Link to this site or information on your or other rescues, anything. So please feel free to get in touch with me, I look forward to hearing from you!

A Little About Me: I have over 15 years experience in Chinchillas, which includes owning
Chinchillas as Pets, Breeding Show Quality Chins, Running and Owning the NZ Chinchilla Rescue and Seventh Heaven a Chinchilla Boarding Service,
as a Judge I also held
In these years I have dedicated days and nights gathering, researching and
studying all aspects deeply of these animals either by keeping, courses, working and been trained along side Chinchilla and Exotic Vets, and other means,
but as anyone will know getting involved in theses animals you are always learning and updating yourself!
My lead to where I am today is from been very lucky in managing to have mentors (Top Breeders and Chinchilla Vets) and great friends by my
side, encouraging me, teaching and helping me to the best they can whenever I have needed
it, please take a moment to look them up in my links page or their own piece I
have added to this site.
Want to see the face behind this Rescue? A few that know me have
been trying for a while to get me to put one up, will get one up sometime...if anyone can catch me tee-hee! :)
IMPORTANT
NOTE: Because of problems and abuse with people prescribing their Chinchillas
medication without a Veterinarians full knowledge, I have now cut out Veterinary drugs and dosages on this site. I will only go over particular drugs i.e. Anesthetics,
Respiratory, Antifungals, Gastrointestinal Agents, Antimicrobials,
Cardiac Drugs, Non-steroidal Antiinflammatories/Analgesics etc, for particular
reasons such as for understanding the risks, the whys etc, for both the owners
and veterinarians. Further information
on Veterinary Drugs I will happily talk about, advise or/and suggest to
qualified, licensed Veterinarians ONLY.
This site does NOT support the Fur Industry and I am in no way in support or involved in
such things. Also, any advice that is given on here is NOT an alternative or
replacement to veterinary treatment. Please get your Chinchilla to a Vet
ASAP if there is something wrong, delaying could cost a Chinchilla it's life.

Lookie lookie we now have "Site Updates" woo-hoo!!
1 December 2006 - As from December
2006 I will not be taking in chinchillas or other animals as I am
moving to a new home over by Strathmore (yippy woo-hoo!!). But I am
still here for advice and the usual :) A trustworthy person is taking
over the Rescue part, and yes this will be in her home, so she will have them all there :) I will still pop over and help her if needed and be as involved as I can, but feel free to
still ring or comment.
5 April 2007 - New page added: "Education Program". Still under construction, but YIPPY this is a big goal for the NZ Chinchilla Rescue! "Chinucation Education" has been in the works for nearly 3 years now and is only just getting started even now. It's aim is very important in helping Chinchillas of the now and more so the future :) Schools so far have really benefited and the special chins chosen for it are just loving it! Again, Yippy :D
25 March 2007 - New page added: "Make a Donation & help us". Still under construction and abit messy, but as sugested by some friends and mentors, a donation button has now been added to this page to help the NZ Chinchilla Rescue :)
