NZ Chinchilla Rescue

Run in conjunction with the NZ Chinchilla Rescue, this offers Schools and soon the Community a wonderful opportunity to participate and actively interact in a free Education Program specifically for Chinchillas.

The program involves a very simple but informative presentation that provides the class with an understanding of safe behaviour around Chinchillas, their special requirements, care, to be a responsible owner and a little on their wild habitat.  As well as been educational it is designed to entertain including Chins doing simple tricks, dust bathing, random quizzes and colouring pages, a chance to handle and give little pats, so that it achieves a positive and fun learning experience.  It targets different age groups from Kindergarten through to Year 8 and so is split up to suit and cover the following learning groups:

The chosen Chinchillas involved in this program have their safety and happiness above anything else, they are well socialised, have wonderful people orientated personalities and temperaments, and enjoy participating so that any stress is eliminated on them during this program.  They not only benefit from all the love and attention, but having them physically available in this program is a key element in educating students (and Adults) in today's society.
