Queens Zoo is operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. It is located in Flushing Meadows Park, Queens. Queens Zoo was originally opened in 1968 and is designed for animals native to North America. It is the second of the three "city zoos" to be renovated by WCS.

Home to North America
Queens Zoo has a great collection of animals native to North America, including lynx, puma, bison, pronghorn antelope, bald eagle, coyote, pudu, spectacle bear, and sea lion. The Zoo does contain rough terrain to different exhibits, but it is mostly accessible.

New Features in 2008
A new sea lion feeding demonstration has finally been introduced this summer, which also makes every WCS facility having its own narration for its sea lions. All California sea lions in Queens Zoo are males, and they are quite large. The largest one is about 970 pounds!

Good Things About QZ:
You can see animals that can't be seen at the Bronx Zoo. For example, Queens Zoo is the only WCS zoo to house spectacle bears.

Not-so-Good Things About QZ:
Its location is a bit too far, and is only served by local subway.

The zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
