450 Flatbush Avenue. Brooklyn, NY 11225 Google MapProspect Park Zoo is renovated in 1993 and operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society. It opens 365 days a year. The Zoo houses red pandas, kangaroo, otters, sea lions, baboons and many other animals. Guests can also feed animals in the barn.
Discovery Trail (contains rough terrain)
The
entrance of the trail is somewhat hidden, perhaps that is the design of
the exhibits, turn left before you enter Sea Lion Court if you enter
the zoo via Childred's Corner Entrance. The first two exhibits are
Prairie dogs and marsh, then you will push two gates to enter the Kangaroo Walkabout. The
Zoo's western grey kangaroo have access throughout the area. Exiting
from the exhibit, you will also need to push two gates to continue the
trail. You will see emu, red-tailed hawk, red pandas, porcupines, river
otters and the newest addition of three male tufted deers. If you look
straight ahead you will see two gates again. Entering the gates by
pushing them, but remember not to keep them opened at the same time,
it's the Aviary. You will see some bird species here and then
push the other two gates to exit. Again, please do not keep the two
gates opened at the same time as this is for your safety as well as the
animals.
