The Aquarium locates in Mystic, Connecticut, approximately 142 miles from New York City. This requires about 2 1/2 hours of driving.

Aquarium currently holds three beluga whales. These whales are swimming in a natural habitat
and participate in daily interaction programs.
Probilof Islands
There
are three species of pinnipeds: Steller sea lions, northern fur seals
and harbor seals. Kodiak, one of the Steller sea lions, weighs about
1,700 pounds!

A
close up view of the Black-footed penguins. Mystic Aquarium also offers
penguin contact programs, which people can meet them face to face and
have an opportunity to pat them.
Interaction programs and Touch pools
Mystic Aquarium offers a lot of opportunity for people to meet animals face to face. Beluga Contact Program
allows you to meet one of the beluga whales and do some of the fun
behaviors such as suction, jacuzzi and splash. Though the price is
quite expensive for a 20-minute encounter with a whale, free
interactions can be done in Hidden Amazon exhibit with sea stars,
lizards and crabs. Ray Touch Pool is one popular place for everyone to
get an idea of what they feel like.
Marine Theater/Hidden Amazon
The
same building with Marine Theater on the upper level and Hidden Amazon
on the lower level. Marine Theater features California sea lions, an
educational demonstrations about marine life and seals.
