Welcome to The North West Tortoise Groups website! We are a non-profit organisation founded in 2007. We have one main goal and that is to bring tortoise keepers of the North West together in the hope of educating more people in the welfare of tortoises.
We cover Cheshire, Lancashire, Mersey, Greater Manchester, Cumbria, Isle of Man and, although not in the North West, Staffordshire!

Stolen Tortoises
Stolen from a back garden in Portsmouth, Hampshire in the early hours of Monday 21st July:
1 adult male Spur
1 adult female Spur
2 adult male Hermanns
2 adult female Hermanns
3 Juv Spurs (nearly 3 years old)
3 Juv Hermanns (nearly 3 years old)

Four
Tortoises were stolen from a garden in Liss in Hampshire on 6.7.07. All four, are much loved family pets and all aremicro-chipped. We need your help!
Fred is a fully grown Hermann’s Tortoise, similar to the picture above but with a substantial crack and hole drilled in shell. Charlie and Moses both are Hermann’s Tortoises and are 10 years old. George is a full grown Spur Thighed Tortoise, different species to the Hermann’s he is brown/black in colour.
It is illegal to sell a Tortoise without the appropriate documentation, all of our Tortoises are covered by this legislation. If you have been offered a Tortoise or a family of Tortoises for sale recently, or even if you have information on our missing Tortoises, please contact 07941 912454, The National Theft Register on 07802 404929 or Hampshire Police on 0845 045 4545.
A REWARD will be offered for their safe return or a donation will be made to a Tortoise charity.
