For the camp and league registration payments.
Brock has also offered to run a skills and drills session during the season on Monday nights. We will be scheduling these practices as part of the Masters ice time but they will be open to Wednesday night players as well. The fee to cover these practices will be built into the registration fees for this yearís hockey. Again, they will be limited to the first 20 players to sign up for the ice time. The Brock Badgers will be running the practices with members of the team on the ice to serve as mentors and instructors.

In addition to this program we will be making some changes to the Wednesday night league. We have acquired the 10 pm ice slot which means we will have all ten teams playing each week. We have also been able to get ice on Monday evenings at 9 and 10 pm that will allow us to run a Masters division of 4 teams. Masters players will have to be a minimum of 35 years of age as of December 31, 2017 to be eligible to play in this new league.
As with the regular league we will endeavour to place people on teams with their friends. It is suggested that you indicate what team you want to be on for the league and/or who you would like to play with. Returning players will be given priority for placement up until September 15th and then the league will be assigning players to teams based on roster availability.
The Annual Oonagh Hastie Memorial Bursary Award
Presented to a player on the Brock University Womenís hockey team who is elected by her peers and coaches. The winner is someone who exhibits the all around sportsmanship, leadership and skill that Oonagh demonstrated as an original member of the Niagara Womenís Recreational Hockey League.
This years winner is Jensen Murphy a second year goaltender for the Badgers. Her peers describe her as a leader on and off the ice, someone whom they can count on to make the big play when needed as well as stepping up in the dressing room to rally the team. She works very hard on and off the ice and is always willing to take the new players on the team under her wing.
We will be presenting the Oonagh Hastie memorial bursary to Jensen at the Brock Badgers home game on Saturday February 4th .
A message from Kailey Peirson
Dear NWRHL Family,
I would personally like to thank you for giving me the opportunity and honour to receive the Oonagh Hastie Memorial Award & Bursary this past Friday night at our hockey game against University of Toronto. Words can not express how thankful I am, she sounded like the type of player I would love to have on my team! I already have the plaque up on my shelf, and the bursary will definitly help me finish off my last few payments this semester as a Brock Badger. See you all around the rinks...
