DR. Gangrene is back!!!!

Dr. Gangrene’s Creature Feature Is Back In Action

Nashville, TN (09.01.08) Nashville Horror Host Dr. Gangrene will celebrate ten years on the air with the new season of Creature Feature that begins airing Saturday September 6, 2008 on WNAB CW58 Nashville.

A staple of local programming in Nashville, TN, Dr. Gangrene (Larry Underwood) has reinvented his program from a 30 minute public access television show to a two hour network bonanza showcasing classic and not so classic films.

The New season of Dr. Gangrene's Creature Feature has some surprises in store.  Movies will now be broadcast with FACT-O-RAMA, a technology that allows interesting factoids about the films to appear on screen during the movie. This running commentary will bring new life to films you may have seen dozens of times before, or add substance for first time viewers.

In true B-movie director William Castle fashion, we are proud to present these films in FACT-O-RAMA,  said Dr. Gangrene.  Our tenth season promises to be our best yet, with new features, films, and fun. Viewers are in for a real treat, and a few tricks, too

As always, Dr. Gangrene is joined by his lovely assistant Nurse Moan-Eek (Linda Wylie).  Together they guide you through the film through comedic and sometimes perilous adventures.

New Valiant Productions Cameron McCasland and Michael Creason have joined the Creature Feature Staff to Direct and Produce episodes alongside creator Larry Underwood.  Earlier this year, McCasland & Creason helped develop the “Go Green With Dr. Gangrene” campaign. The Environmentally friendly ads  became an immediate hit, with over 80,000 hits on the web including the newly launched www.gogreencrusade.com

In celebration of ten years on the air, Dr. Gangrene was recently invited to throw out the first pitch at a Nashville Sounds baseball game.  Dr. Gangrene has also launched new pages on Facebook, as well as Myspace.com/drgangrenecreaturefeature  for fans of the hit television show. Several public appearances have been scheduled before years end.

Dr. Gangrenes Creature Feature airs Saturday at 1:00 p.m. beginning September 6th 2008 on WNAB Nashville CW 58.  It will continue in that time slot throughout September and October before a brief hiatus before relaunching in 2009 with more new episodes.

Dr. Gangrenes Creature Feature is a production of Shackle Island Productions.. For more information please visit www.drgangrene.com

Post “9/11”.

One of America’s greatest national tragedies. A time when the country’s governmental

securities took advantage of their countrymen’s fears and suspicions. The newly formed US

Department of Homeland Security and their allies discover a terrible plot brewing in the

hidden mountains of Afghanistan. A formidable new breed of vampire bat is being genetically

created to attack the American public where they live.

Yet... something no one counted on occurs!

During an interrogation of a captured terrorist from that region, a vile killer silently emerges.

Genetics Vampirillius Ixodida – a common tick. There’s nothing common about this creature,

rather it’s a nightmarish aberration. This mutated insect’s blood is genetically altered

infecting it’s host. Once infection takes control, a deadly metamorphosis occurs sending the

infected on a gruesome killing spree and creating an insane craving for blood!

This discovery doesn’t go unnoticed by interested parties.

Walsh Industries, a leader in R&D including urban expansion and top secret arsenals, see

the opportunity for a potentially lethal biological weapon. What they’re incapable of realizing

is that this killer has already begun it’s devastation... Unbeknownst to a group of campers,

their plans for a fun-filled weekend change drastically as they experience extreme terror

and encountering a hellish foe... Vampires! The very existence of the human race is at

stake! It soon becomes very clear what lies in the horizon – oblivion!

What happens in the end is outrageous! Pray you live long enough to see it!

New Valiant news!

New Valiant Goes Green With Dr. Gangrene

For immediate release:

Nashville Filmmakers Fight Littering With Mad Science

Nashville, TN (06.06.08) New Valiant Production’s Filmmakers Michael Creason and Cameron McCasland have teamed up with Dr. Gangrene and Nurse Moan-Eek from WNAB Nashville’s CW 58 Creature Feature to produce several Earth friendly Public Service Announcements that will begin airing later this month under the campaign “Go Green With Dr. Gangrene”.

Larry Underwood who portrays the Mad Scientist Dr Gangrene stated, “It's important that we take care of our city and our environment. Even little things can add up to a big difference if we all take part. The “Go Green with Dr. Gangrene” Campaign is our effort to help promote environmental and safety tips. If everyone works together we can have a safer, cleaner city for everyone to enjoy.”

New Valiant Productions plan to premiere the series of newly completed shorts (produced by Michael Creason and directed by Cameron McCasland) on Creature Feature’s home station WNAB Nashville CW 58 as well as on the web through their official web page www.newvaliant.com, on the New Valiant Myspace page, www.myspace.com/newvaliant and Youtube channel www.youtube.com/newvaliantprod .

When asked about what brought this project together director Cameron McCasland stated, “This is our attempt to think globally and act locally. I think most people know they should be doing something to help make a cleaner planet, but have no clue where to start. As filmmakers, we wanted to provide information to viewers, while being entertaining. We tried to blend both the horror and comedy themes that Dr. Gangrene and Nurse Moan-Eek are known for while educating people on simple tasks that are good for the planet as a whole. The Creature Feature crew was responsive to our ideas for Going Green With Dr. Gangrene and it was a lot of fun using a zombie apocalypse as a metaphor for saving the planet.”

The initial rollout includes three shorts titled “Bonehead” which tells the importance of safety belts. “Two Lane Trash Stop” that explains the dangers of highway litter. And “Trash Day Of The Dead” a tongue in cheek commentary on the evils of litter, set in downtown Nashville, TN. All three were produced locally in Nashville by Michael Creason, and directed by Cameron McCasland. They follow Dr. Gangrene (Larry Underwood) and Nurse Moan-Eek (portrayed by Linda Wylie) as they remind us to pick up our litter, as well as buckling up for safety. Later this month a new website www.gogreencrusade.com will launch with tips from the good doctor on how to stay safe and help protect the planet. And more short subjects will follow in coming months.

Producer Michael Creason had this to say about the classic cinema perspective spun with the new shorts. “With the ever growing emphasis on a global movement, we at New Valiant hope to do our part by capturing the attention of the people and families of middle Tennessee with a classic theme on a very contemporary concept. I think our Public Service Announcements relay the messages of safety and "Going Green" to a broad spectrum with some comedic relief. If people get the message and it sticks with them, then we have done our job. Everyone who worked on this project has a great sense of accomplishment and I am proud to be a part of it."

In a world where even Mad Scientist do their part to save the planet, we may have finally turned the corner for a better tomorrow for everyone. New Valiant Productions and Dr. Gangrene invites you to “Go Green With Dr. Gangrene” visit them on the web at: www.newvaliant.com www.drgangrene.com and the newly launched www.gogreencrusade.com

Dan Ellis sent us some new info!

Ok so I have just agreed to do 2 films with Vince D'Amato http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1410503/ and "Creepy six films" in Vancouver. I can only talk about one at this time though.... "The Hard Cut" will be filming in August 2008 in Vancouver and I will be playing "Jonas" an exploitation film producer.

Hopefully Vince will be updating his web site soon but for now you can get more info on them here http://www.creepysixfilms.com/index.php

There is "Bind" (set to shoot in September http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1185839/) and we know about that one but there have been some cast changes and I think Julie Krystina is no longer attached.

"Hangar" and "Star Vehicle" by Ryan Nicholson (Gutterballs and more http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0629913/  ) set to film late 2008. There is a short synopsis for "Star Vehicle" on the plotdigger web site here http://www.plotdigger.com/films.html

I will be playing a teamster boss in "Star Vehicle" and we are still discussing roles for "Hangar". "Hangar" will really be an odd one. I get the idea Ryan is getting into something very dark with this one and almost surreal. Not sure which one we will be filming first and I think he is waiting till "Bind" is done as he is doing the effects.

I have also just agreed to play the part of "Mick" a crime bosses right hand and hit man in a film by Marcus Koch of "Oddtopsy Fx" called "Baby doll" hopefully filming in January 2009. I think he is still trying to negotiate financing, just between you and I.

Info on Marcus http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1155596/  and http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=19985718&MyToken=6ede2322-3f33-4209-84fe-c512186e15fe  and his web site (under construction) http://oddtopsyfx.com/

"Baby doll" has a MySpace as well http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=242748388
