SUBMISSIONS
Attention:
ANYONE WISHING TO SUBMIT A FILM REVIEW, NEWS ON UPCOMING FILM PROJECTS, FILM POSTER ART, PERSONAL INFO, OR BOOK & MAGAZINE UPDATES, OR SOME FRIGHTENING FICTION, THEN FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES LISTED BELOW.

Submissions Guidelines:
Beginning on January 12th, 2009, I will no longer accept any type of attachments except rtf format. no ms word attachments will be accepted. MS Word attachments are virus factories. Please keep the nasty little buggies to yourself. Send rtf only. Pics should be sent in jpeg or Tiff formats. PNG and BMP are ok, but they can be a royal pain in the ass. Use discretion, please.
Pic sizes: Don't over do it; just send small to medium sized pics.If you have no small or medium sized pics, just send the big ones along, and we will do our best to resize them.
Film and/or poster art images: Make sure you have permission to use the images before sending, because I don't need any lawsuits. If you don't have permission or own the copyrights, DO NOT SEND THEM.
Fiction: I only publish 2 or 3 pieces per issue right now, but go ahead and send the story along, because I may use it in a future issue. I take subs for fiction all year long.
Format: Rtf attachment, single spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font. Genres I am looking for are:
Horror, dark fantasy, dark fiction, and scifi-horror. No erotica, unless it is laced with some element of horror, or dark fantasy. No explicit sexual content unless it really adds something to the plot. No necrophilia, child abuse, or animal abuse, either. If you enjoy stories about child-raping, baby-bashing pedophiles, people who like to fuck dead bodies, or skin cats or burn puppies, then my magazine IS NOT FOR YOU.
Word count: 3,000 to 6,000 words. Query first for longer pieces.
Interviews: Got any good interviews with established or up-and-coming people within the horror genre? I will take a look at them! But, due to limited web-space, please try to send me interviews kept within a word count of 5 to 7,000 words.
Films/videos/screeners: Got a film or video you want posted up? I accept WMV mode - sent in an email - or DVD-R, regular DVD, or DVD-DV. You can send the latter 3 formats to:

Payment: For now, all featured guests wil be paid in EXPOSURE ONLY. NVF is a non-profit magazine, and has very limited financial resources. However, beginning in October of 2010, I intend to begin paying fiction writers semi-pro rates - 2 to 3 cents per word - and all other guests a flat rate to be discussed between me and the individual in question, depending on what the piece is; a film review, book review, an essay, column, an interview, etc.
I ask for only one-time rights to feature you here; no long term contracts or legal bullshit. After the three month time period in which you appear in is up, all rights automatically reverse back to you. In addition, if you have an offer to post the same piece in another magazine while you are still up on my site, please feel free to do so. I, unlike alot of other editors out there, am not a prick. I am here to HELP you, not OWN you.

I have also installed a filter on my PC now, that will detect any and all viruses sent to my email address, and it will give the address of the SENDER. If you don’t want to end up in court, I’d keep that in mind. Anyone who purposely sends a virus, to me, is not only an asshole, but a mentally unbalanced person as well. If you are intelligent enough to know how to create a virus,then why don't you do something more constructive with your time?
