Lago de Cote - 1971: A Costa Rican government mapping plane clearly photographed a three-dimensional, metallic disc possibly partially submerged in lake as it passed over Lago de Cote on an otherwise routine mapping mission. No eyewitnesses to object photographed, but other incidents were reported by local farmers. Adjacent film frames showed no anomalies. |

Bonsall, Derbyshire - 2000: Six minutes of amazing and graphic UFO footage captured in November 2000 was locked in an undisclosed Nottingham bank vault for 6 months. It was purchased by an American TV producer for $20,000. Already ranked among top 5 UFO videos of all time. |
NASA - STS-75 - "Tether Incident" - 1997: Minutes after the experimental 12 mile-long satellite tether accidentally breaks, hundreds of objects are captured by shuttle-bay cameras. Some, like the one shown, appear to be miles across as they seem to pass behind the distant tether. Many appear to have flashing lights. |
UK - 2002: Early in 2002, new video footage very similar to the Bonsall/Derbyshire footage was recorded for several consecutive nights. One outspoken critic says it is merely the planet Jupiter, filmed out of focus. |
Vancouver Island, British Columbia - 1981: Woman stopped with family to take photo of nearby mountain. She claimed not to have noticed the disc-like object until after photo was developed. Much hi-tech analysis was applied to this photograph using original negative, most of which supports photographer's story. |
NASA - Apollo 16 - 1972: U.S. astronaut, John W. Young, filmed an unusual, disc-like object receding into the shadow of the moon. This is arguably some of NASA's best UFO footage, though NASA officials don't seem to think so. |
Belgium - 1991: A wave of "Flying Triangle" mass sightings produced a clear nighttime 35mm photo, a fairly clear home video, and a fully documented Belgian Air Force encounter/engagement with object. Cockpit cameras and instruments (as well as ground radar) recorded object's hypersonic escape. |
McMinnville, Oregon - 1950: These two photos caused quite a sensation when the press finally got copies. Taken minutes apart by Mr. Paul A. Trent, these are two of the best known UFO photos. USAF Project Blue Book files even categorized this case as unknown. (Includes Hi-Res enlargements.) |
Rouen, France - 1957: Photo taken by a French Air Force pilot in either 1954 or 1957. Deemed important because of fundamental similarities to the widely authenticated McMinnville/Trent photos. |
Trinidade Island - 1958: A photographer, invited aboard the Brazilian navy's Almirante Saldanha to take underwater photos, captured 6 photos of a Saturn-shaped object as it passed over Trinidade Island then reversed direction and went back out to sea. |
Ecuador - 1995: This case centers around a nighttime video of a truly strange-looking, rotating UFO. When the cameraman zooms in, he has trouble keeping the UFO in frame, which suggests it was a large object in the distance. |
England - 1966: This is some awesome daytime UFO footage shot from a plane in 1966 over England. The objects shape is very unusual, as are its characteristics of movement. It stays in exactly the same position relative to the plane for a few moments, then turns and zooms away into the sky. It disappears in the progression of 6 frames [approx. 1/5 sec.]. |
Rio de Janeiro - 1952: News photographer, Ed Kessel, took series of 5 photos of a solid, metallic-looking disc-shaped object, while covering a "ground breaking" ceremony near Copacabana. Both "top" and "bottom" of "disc" were photographed. |
Bolivia - 1952: Peruvian customs inspector, Domingo Troncoso, photographed a UFO while on the job at Peruvian Customs Office on jungle frontier with Bolivia. Object was leaving a thick, smoky contrail in its wake, which is seen reflecting in the Madre de Dios river beneath it in the photograph. |
