The Continental Hotel Akosombo. On the main road just the other side of the town of Atimpoku.

A very nice location on the side of the Volta Lake with excellent facilities - a warm welcome and very friendly staff. Plenty of parking and nice grounds. Rooms have air conditioning, TV, hot and cold water and room service. Rates from about $50 per night. Can also rent Chalet type of self contained accomodation - price on request.

Next Door Beach Resort. Located past La Palm Beach Resort on the Accra to Nungua Beach Road, just past the military shooting range. One of the only places to sit and to be entertained by the side of the ocean. Selection of local and international dishes. Gets busy at weekends when there is normally some entertainment going on. Allow plenty of time. Chalet type accomodation to rent approx $50 per night best to telephone for tariff.

Get in early at weekends and local holiday times. Not advisable to go swimming as there are some very strong under currents.  

 

Aylos Bay. Located on the river bank 500m from the Adomi Bridge and past the Akosombo Continetal Hotel. Has an outdoor restaurant and comfortable accommodation at affordable rates. Accommodation consists of three appointed chalets with self - catering facilities, and three additional double rooms. The chalets overlook the river and breakfast is included in the cost of the overnight stay, and is served on a platform built over the water. You can also pitch your tent in the grounds at a modest cost.
