The Numeralla Folk Festival is
an Australian folk festival held annually over the Australia Day long weekend.
The festivities kick off this year with a Friday night welcome supper. An Australia Day BBQ, dance workshops, a poets breakfast and kids activities are run on Saturday, with a bush dance in the evening. On Sunday there will be an optional Ecumenical service, followed by the annual Sunday Country Markets, a blackboard concert and another bush dance in the evening. On Monday there will be another poets breakfast, followed by an acoustic farewell.
Spontaneuos music sessions can
be experienced around campfires throughout the weekend, so bring your instrument, singing voice or just a pair of ears and some hands to clap along with.
Our Folk Festival is
unique in the fact that it is completely free. Free camping, free entry, free
activities. Funds for the event are raised mainly through the
small canteen, BBQ and bar which are run by volunteers and open throughout the
weekend. T-shirts are also for sale and have become an integral part of the Numeralla Folk Festival tradition.
Numeralla is a small village
located between Cooma and Braidwood in south eastern NSW. It is formed on the
junction of the Badja and Numeralla rivers and has a rich history as a farming
and gold-mining community.
