Newcastle secure seven point lead over Chelsea

Newcastle beat Chelsea 2-1 at St. James' Park today, opening up a seven point lead over the Londoners and virtually securing a Champions League spot for next season. Olivier Bernard scored the winner after Frank Lampard had cancelled out Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's own goal.

Chairman pledges money, money and more money!

Newcastle United chairman Sir Bobby Robson spoke today of his vows to add even more money to the Newcastle transfer funds. Speaking at his home in Darras Hall, Robson praised the sterling work his manager Alan Shearer has done with his beloved Newcastle. After spending over £130M in the last 6 months alone, bringing the best of the world's footballers to St. James' Park Robson added that Shearer would never go short so long as he was in charge of Newcastle.
