Diagnosis: Epidermolysis Bullosa
Rocio entered the center in January 1999 diagnosed with Epidermolysis Bullosa, an extremely rare hereditary condition that affects the skin, hands, and feet. It is estimated that one child out of 1 million have the form of the disease that she has. Due to her condition, Rocio has no fingers, toes, and her skin peels off when touched. With the help of the center she has been able to learn how to hold a pencil and to write. Rocio has normal mental capacity and is integrated into the public school system, where she is currently in first grade. Rocio has an incredible desire to learn, and contagious positive attitude towards all she does.
