Diagnosis:  Down Syndrome and bilateral hearing loss

Gaby is a true entertainer, with a bit of a mischievous streak.  She arrived at the center in November of 2000 diagnosed with Down Syndrome.  It was later that the center discovered her hearing loss.  With the assistance of the center's early stimulation therapy coupled with her aquisition of a hearing aid, she is learning basic communication skills.  She has a contagious smile, and loves to make her teachers at the center laugh.

Diagnosis: Bilateral Hearing Loss

Jesus Daniel is a true success story! He entered the center in 2000 diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss. The teachers at the center taught Jesus Daniel to read lips which helped him to earn a scholarship to a private school. He attends therapy at the center weekly to supplement his school work and assist him with his lip reading. 

Diagnosis: Epidermolysis Bullosa

Rocio entered the center in January 1999 diagnosed with Epidermolysis Bullosa, an extremely rare hereditary condition that affects the skin, hands, and feet.  It is estimated that one child out of 1 million have the form of the disease that she has.  Due to her condition, Rocio has no fingers, toes, and her skin peels off when touched.  With the help of the center she has been able to learn how to hold a pencil and to write.  Rocio has normal mental capacity and is integrated into the public school system, where she is currently in first grade.   Rocio has an incredible desire to learn, and contagious positive attitude towards all she does.
