Age: 7 years old
Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy
This child with the appearance of an angel and a strong will entered the center in January of 1999. Since then she has been receiving physical therapy as well as academic preparation. The goal set by both her parents and the center is to integrate Aquetzalli into the school system as well as assist her to be self-sufficient. Aquetzalli recently underwent surgery to enable her to walk. With the assistance of physical therapy provided free by the center Aquetzalli is beginning to walk and is scheduled to enter pre-school in September.

Age: 8 years old
Diagnosis: Infant Cerebral Palsy
Yoselin, "the girl with the braids" as she is known at the center, is a hardworker and has made amazing advances with her rehabilitation and therapy. Yoselin began receiving therapy at the center in June of 1999. She also recently underwent surgery to correct her left leg and allow her to walk more efficiently. Yoselin is only able to speak one word "mama", but she has made progress in her ability to identify colors, match sounds to objects, and follow specific directions. In addition she loves to swim in the pool with floaties and looks forward to her pool therapy immensely.

Age: 10 years old
Diagnosis: Spastic Triparesia, and delayed language capabilities
The first goal of the center for Xochitl when she arrived in May of 2000 was to integrate her socially and help her to accept help from the teachers. When she entered the school Xochitl would scowl at the teachers and appear to be angry. With the help of the dedicated staff, Xochitl now participates in physical therapy and early stimulation therapy with a huge smile. She recently underwent surgery to correct the malformation of her left leg. She will be receiving a second surgery for her right leg by an orthopedic surgeon in the next few months.

Age: 5 years old
Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy, Microcephala, Spastic Quadriplegia, Hyper-reflexia, and Cerebral Malfunction
With the few resources that Denise's single mother has, she always manages have Denise all dressed up complete with matching hair bows! Denise entered the center in September of 2000. Since then she has been attending physical therapy and early stimulation therapy. The center's goal for Denise is to help minimize the overall muscle and skeletal deterioration and to better her quality of life. Denise is shown here in the picture with a brand new wheelchair donated by the Rotary Organization in assistance with the Wheelchair Foundation.

Age: 8 years old
Diagnosis: West Syndrome, Roberts Syndrome, and Brain malformation
Daniel entered the center in April of 1998 where he was diagnosed with West Syndrome, Roberts Syndrome,and brain malformation. He receives physical therapy and early stimulation therapy on a weekly basis. The goal of the center is to stimulate Daniel's muscles to keep him active and mobile. The center is also working hard to enhance Daniel's quality of life by educating his mother as well. This enables her to give Daniel the best possible care and nutrition that she can provide for him with her limited resources.
