The western themed Nub TV Showdown surf event kicked off bright and early on the morning of June 12th as the young competitive grinders migrated to the beach on Pelham ave for a 7am sign up time and an 8 am start. The event was the first of four Nub TV events happening throughout the summer, this year the Nub TV crew is making it a series with points and over all series prizes and titles. The event hosted 5 divisions and about 70 slots available for competition. The divisions included 11 and under, 12-15, 16+ an Open (all ages) division and a pro division, in which a few of the areas top professionals came to show there stuff and put a show on for the kids. The pro division was judged by anyone who wanted to join the panel and scores were based on how much a rider can make the crowd erupt. Live stunts were thrown down throughout the day by Nub TV’s Hob, including banshee bungie beach surfing and a massive high fall from somewhere in the range of 20 foot in the air, making the competitors time between heats exciting and enjoyable. The next Nub TV event of the series will be held sometime in early July and projected to have an even bigger crowd and more fun for everyone who attends, we hope to see you there!
