Teams must be registered online and roster posted online before their first tournament.

Responsibility for this task falls to each team manager or team representative.

It is NOT the responsibility of your area director to get your team registered & rostered online !

1.      Go to http://www.playnsa.com . Click: “NSA Registration”. Fill out completely and submit, then enter your password. Send your registration fee ($25 for Slow-Pitch, $20 for Youth) to your area  director immediately.

2.     When your area director receives payment, your registration will be approved. NSA will immediately send you e-mail with your sanction number. (Save this e-mail, it serves as your sanction card). You will need your sanction number and your password in order to go online to enter your roster.

3.        Players may only register with 1 NSA tournament team. They may, however, play with a different team in a specialty program or in an NSA-sanctioned league. Those are the only exceptions.

4.      Entering roster: You will need info from your players to enter roster—name (no nicknames), address (w/zip), birth date & driver’s license (or state ID #.) Click: “Team Login” – Enter roster (Click pencil icon to open each line, Save each completed line in order to open the next line). Upon entering your complete roster, click: Submit.

5.      Print out the completed roster. On this copy, gather your players’ signatures. (Do not forge signatures, this is a legal document!) Make several copies of the completed & signed form…you will need to submit a copy of your signed roster at each NSA tournament you participate in.

6.       PHOTO ID’s ARE REQUIRED AT ALL NSA EVENTS—NO PHOTO ID, NO PLAY…NO KIDDING 

7.       You may enter up to 20 players, however you cannot delete any, even if the player in question secures a release to play with another team. TIP: Don’t fall into the trap of adding a player because you’re “pretty sure” they’ll play…if they don’t, you will lose that roster spot.

         Again, you cannot delete players from your roster, not even a released player.

8.      Players may be added up to the day before the State Tournament, and released players have until Sept. 1^st, and they must be rostered online prior to the tournament cutoff date to be eligible. Bring a copy of the updated online roster to the tournament, along with a copy of your original roster, to verify the added player(s).  No names may be added at the tournament! All rosters are frozen at the state tournament…any players added after then (2 per team maximum, if roster spots are open) may only be added by contacting the State office.

9.     Players wishing to switch teams may do so by securing a release form. However, once their current team becomes qualified, they may only transfer to a non-qualified team, and they may only do so once per year. Players may not drop down in classification through a release, they can only transfer to a team of equal or higher classification. The release becomes official when received and approved by the state office.

10.   Teams and players may only drop down one classification per year. Period.

11.   Teams wishing to disband must do so by submitting their desire to do so, in writing, to the state office only. The deadline to disband is 2 weeks before the state tournaments. Disbanded teams will forfeit all berths & travel money earned.

12.   Teams are subject to reclassification based on their performance. If, after judicious observation and research, the local director feels reclassification is necessary, the state office will be informed. The state director will then make the final decision.

13.   No team may participate in the state tournament unless they play in at least one qualifying event (World or Regional Qualifier, Grand Slam, NIT, etc.) or participate in an NSA-sanctioned league.

14.   READ THE RULE BOOK! Ignorance of the rules is never an excuse! If you do not have a rule book, request one from your area director. The rule book is also accessible online.

Super Worlds:
These are the cream of the crop teams. Teams that win a Super World NIT or a State Tournament or place 1st-2nd in a Super Regional, or 1st-3rd in a World Series event earn berths to this prestigious tournament. There may be a couple of at-large berths awarded by the NSA National office, but these are the NSA's best teams that qualify for this event. The Super Worlds take place after Oct 1 and have separate divisions for Class B, C, D, and E teams. Super World information can be found at: http://www.nsanorth.com/SUPER-WORLD/NSASUPERWORLD.htm

World Series:
These are held the 3rd week of Sept and are usually 2 regions combined. Teams qualify for this event through World Qualifiers, Super World NIT's, World NIT's, State tournaments and Super Regionals. Some at-large bids may be given, but teams' participation in NSA is a deciding factor in the awarding of those berths. First and 2nd place teams in World Series events earn Super World berths along with $12.50 for each team entered in the event (up to $1000 awarded). Ex: 80 teams entered, 1st & 2nd place earns Super World berth along with $1000 travel expense money. Super Regionals:
These are usually held the last weekend of August. These are Region championships, which usually consist of a 4-5 state radius. Teams qualify through World qualifiers, State tournaments, Super NIT's, and also thru league play for this event. Region champions earn a berth to the Super Worlds along with $25 per team entered for travel money (up to $1000). Runner-ups pick up a Super World berth but earn no travel money.

Super World NIT's:
Open to any sanctioned NSA team in good standing. These are usually a region's best teams. Super NIT champions pick up a Super World berth along with $50 per team entered travel money (up to $1250). The top 3 teams pick up World berths and the top 6 earn Super Regional berths. Additionally, a 2nd Super World berth is awarded in events of 16 or more teams.
