Progress Energy Art Gallery

...... bringing art to our community!

Exhibiting

If you are interested in showing your artwork at the Progress Energy Art Gallery, please read the following guidelines carefully. We are well aware of how difficult it is for an artist to get shown in a gallery, and we want to make this experience as pleasant and professional as possible. Artists and galleries need each other. We respect that relationship.

Please review our posted themes (below) and specifically submit  the theme of your choice.  Keep in mind that you may only show once per calendar year.  The reason for this is because, we would like to give as many artists as possible, the opportunity to exhibit with us.

Theme's for 2009/2010:

Aug/Sep - Florida History
Oct/Nov - Myth, Mystery and Religion
Dec/Jan - Modern Art
Feb/March - Tropical
April/May -  Mediterranean
June/July - Members Show

There are three ways to send us images.  They are listed below in order of preference:

  1. Send and e-mail peagnpr@gmail.com.  Include a link to your web site, where your work can be reviewed.
  • In the Subject line, put “Artist Submission”
  • In the Body of the e-mail include the following info
  • Web address or link to your web site; your web site should include an artist resume, your artist statement, and/or a short biography
  • Your contact information (name, email address, phone, etc.)

2.  Send an e-mail to peagnpr@gmail.com,  with 5 .jpg attachments.

      • Web address if you have one
      • Contact information (name, email address, phone, etc.)
      • List each .jpg file in the body of the email and then list the corresponding artwork title, size, medium, year, and other pertinent info about the work sent.  The information must be easily referenced to the .jpg file title.
      • Artist resume

      • Short biography
    • Five .jpg files representing your work.  File attachment requirements:

    • If you want your portfolio back, include a return envelope with sufficient postage.

Please do not call to check on the status of your submission.

Response Time
Response time will vary, depending factors such as the number of submissions for a particular exhibit, lead time before the exhibit starts, etc.

What happens if we are interested.
If we are interested in your work, we will contact you by phone, email or mail (per your contact information). At this point we will contact you to arrange to see some of your work in person.  We prefer not to show work in the gallery without first seeing at least one actual piece of your artwork.  Be prepared to ship or bring something to the gallery for us to review before making a final decision.
