Kids...Ya Gotta Luv `Em

Ok...here's a page for those of you who are curious about my part of the world.

Here you will find a couple of links to sites about the largest island in the world...a place of vast open spaces, cosmopilitan cities, unique animals, wonderous wildlife, rainforests, the outback, white sandy beaches, zinc cream, meat pies, speedos, vegemite, bbq's, aeroguard, mozzies, aussie rules football, budgie smugglers and very friendly folk....just to name a few things!

Ahh...Vegemite!  Yummo...not to everyone's taste but I asbsolutely love this on toast.  Another favourite of mine is Vegemite and cheese sandwiches (which if the hubby isn't carefull....he'll be eating that for dinner tonight!)

To answer some of the most common questions:-

* No...crocodiles do not wander the streets. 

* Koalas are not bears.  They are a "marsupial"...you can look that word up in the dictionary.  

* We don't have kangaroos as pets.

We have a language and style all our own.  Here's an example just for starters...

"G'day Mate" (hello).

"Budgie Smugglers"  (mens togs/swimmers...they hug in all the wrong places...need I say more?)

We tend to shorten our friends' names so if your name is Barry, Sharon, Dean or Jim we'd call you Bazza, Shazza, Deano, Jimbo....just to name a few.

"Haveagoodweekend " (hmmm....well there's nothing like throwing a few words together without taking a breath).
