In response to growing concerns about vaccination protocols, the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) set up a Canine Vaccination Taskforce.  That Taskforce issued its Report in 2003.  The Taskforce reconvened in 2005 to re-examine and revise the Guidelines to reflect changes in areas of canine vaccines.  The full reports are  available online:-

In 2004, 31 British veterinarians wrote a letter to their Veterinary Journal in which they collectively spoke out against over-vaccinating companion animals.  That letter was published.  The controversy 'leaked' to a major Dog magazine and subsequently reached Britain's mainstream media.   Details, including the unedited letter, can be seen at this link:
