Notts Metropolis FC

It was a high scoring game at Colwick Racecourse when Notts Metropolis welcomed league leaders Nottingham Deaf.

It could not have started better with new signing Romel Davis being played through by Childs and put it past the keeper for his first goal for Notts Metropolis! In the 10th minute Blackamore then found himself clean through and put us 2-0 up. Things were looking good for Metropolis until Deaf came back at us and score 2 to equalise very quickly.

A change had to be made for Deaf after a clash of heads from Dom Kazmierczak and one of their players resulted in them both going to ground, Kazmierczak battled on but the Nottingham Deaf player had to come off after receiving a nasty cut at the top of his nose.

Good link up play from Nick Peart and Davis allowed Davis to drive in a cross and Blackamore applied a good finish to put us back ahead. Nick Childs then got the 4th for Metropolis when pressuring the keeper, the keeper dropped the ball and Childs took it off him and finished which put us 2 goals up for the second time of the match. Then within about 2 minutes a keeping error and a lack of awareness in defense allowed Nottingham Deaf were able to make it 4-4 for half time.

The second half started in similar fashion with Mitchell Green scoring from a freekick. But again Nottingham Deaf beat our defense and scored another 2 to go ahead for the first time in the match. Notts Metropolis then equalised when Davis got his second of the goal. The score was now 6-6 and Nottingham Deaf have gone done to 10 man after some dangerous tackles from their central midfielder. With 10 minutes left Cooke played Peart in down the right and he cut into the box and hit it powerfully past the keeper.

 The scoring stopped there today and Notts Metropolis held on for a victory.

Our poor league form continued on this wet saturday in December.

Notts Metropolis never really competed today and looked off the pace. We went 2 down early on in the first half, for the first goal we were caught on the break and for the second Ali I scored from a controversial penalty.

In the second half we struggled to get in the game and Ali got their third. At the end Blackamore got a consolation goal and the game finished 3-1.

Ali I got the 3 points and fully deserved them, Notts Metropolis must get back to their form at the start of the season.
