Let me start off by saying that this whole story is still just a concept, but it's been refined a lot so far by me with help from my brother. Basically, NoT QuITe noRMaL is about a scientist, his evil brother, two kids, two robots with fur and a mutated iguana.

The scientist, Finch Taylor, lives in a treehouse that his parents built. This isn't some dinky little "play" treehouse, this is an actual house in a tree. It's surrounded and hidden by trees, inside those trees is the treehouse, a small grassy field and a beach. (Pictured right) One of the kids, Krysty Broyson, stumbled upon this place earlier on, got caught in a trap that one of the robots, Shady, had set, and found Finch living there. Actually, Shady and Finch found Krysty in the trap, but that's beside the point. The three developed a friendship over the years. Krysty found Finch to be like a bigger brother to her, and Shady was someone she could joke around with. At the start of the school year, Krysty was nervous about going because of the fact of it being her first year at high-school. To her surprise, she found Finch being her new Social Studies teacher (Oddly enough, because he likes Science better!).

Then came Herman Stevenson. He had just moved, and was understandably nervous about going to school, let alone his first day of high-school. He didn't know anybody, and the fact that everyone else starting had already shaken off their nerves from their first day a week ago was making him uncomfortable. So he wandered off to his first class, Social Studies. Finch placed him in the group of desks Krysty was sitting in. Krysty, being the weird kid she is, invited Herman back to Finch's treehouse, and of course, there was a bit of awkwardness. A bit of time passed, though, and guess what, they all became really good friends. Plus, Finch had a new robot in the works, Bling.

The Time-Space Continuum

Finch's Social Studies class is no ordinary class. Personally, I enjoy history, but many people think otherwise. "It's in the past, why do we need to learn it?" Well, what if it wasn't in the past? What if you were there, learning it while it happened?

Well Finch has the answer with his only invention that he accidentally discovered. His watch is a time machine, and he uses it to teach his class how things really went down in history... The fun way.

Unfortunatly though, this is where the evil brother comes in. Rodney Taylor. His ultimate goal is to take over the time-space continuum, and as you can imagine, this can make it difficult for Finch to teach his class because since Finch has the only time machine in existence, Rodney can only follow him wherever he goes.

About the Robots with Fur

Shady and Bling are robots built by Finch, though Shady's design was first concocted by Finch's father. They have artificial intelligence and they learn as they live. Emotions, vocabulary, intelligence, etc. Shady is pretty articulate because she's hung around Finch for a long while. Though when she was built, she was talking like a normal monotone robot. Their fur works like a jacket (not real fur, of course!). It zips up in the front, and the head acts as a hood, locking into the teeth.
