A LETTER OF COMFORT TO THOSE STILL STRUGGLING

Hi Guys,

Here is a recent letter (29/04/07) I shared with someone who looked at the website. I include an excerpt of the anonymous note with my response, and a response from another reader.

May this be an encouragement for those who are fighting this battle for their souls.

Ah, is it not everyone's heart cry! (Both male and female): "To see God. To be transformed. To be free from the shackles of the body & soul".

Blessed are the Pure in Heart for they shall see God!

God WILL NOT use us for His Holy Purpose at this last hour without purity of mind and body.

All dark items in the house (physically, mentally and spiritually) must be destroyed literally.

It is time to be free!!!

I hope you do have the truth because I struggle with sin, and have shamefully struggled with pornography since I was a kid.

So, I have alot to fear... I've tried to serve the Lord for most of my life (I'm 36) off and on...
In the past six months He's laid it on my heart that He IS Really Coming Soon.

I only bumped into your site because I was doing a search for some of Mitt Jeffords Prophecies which have really helped me the last few months.

It's helped me know the importance of taking up my cross and The Lord has been leading me to a lot of truth the last six months or so... Mostly through mitt's stuff. But also seeing alot of agreement among those really being led by the Spirit. But I still feel tormented because of my lapses now and again with "willfull” sin. (porno).

And we all know the terrifying scriptures that deal with willfull sin!

Perfect love has no fear... But I fear God because of my sins that never go away. I love Jesus but I'm also terrified of Him. Because I know He is Holy and Pure... Oh, that I could be pure.

Hi Friend,

Thank you for your visit to the website and for opening your heart to me.

I share your sorrow and pain.

Our Lord does all things well.

Do not fear the current trial/temptation you are going through - He is using it for a greater measure of Glory!

Surely, He is a Holy God; and in this hour of the end - He requires a Holy People.

Satan has used pornography to hold the youth of this generation. Yet through it, God will get His People off all desires for lust and darkness!

Remember He works all things for your good, even the bad.

Your heartache is deep, but He is able to lift you up. Keep your eyes on Christ. Fill your mind with Heaven.

It is what Paul asked us to think about in Philip 4:8 - true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good report, virtuous, praise-worthy. Is not Christ & Heaven filled with all these?

Think on the New Jerusalem. Think on the Golden City. Think on the River of Life. Think on the myriads of Angels. Think of our Father's Throne. Think on the Son of God. Think on the four and twenty elders. Think on the beauty and the glory and the power of the Resurrection.

Ah, friend, think on these things. Slowly, but surely, all other things will start to fade away.

It will be hard-work. It is a Battle. But you can do it. Satan's power loses effect as we constantly, passionately keep turning our focus to our Lord who shed His blood for us.

Christ Jesus has all the Power.

Bless you my friend, He will give you victory. He is giving you strength. You are in my prayers and those of all the saints.

The time is at hand for His People to be strong and do exploits.

Stay blessed my friend.

Tony A.

1st April 2007 - A response from another reader

Hi Friend,

I feel your pain and your frustration brother. I hope that my experiences in this same matter will help encourage your faith. First of all, let me share with you a word that the Lord led me to long ago; that which is written in 1 Sam 12:20 "And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: for though you have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart". It was with this word that the Lord put a separation between the sins of my flesh and my faith; that faith is keeps me seeking after the Lord regardless of how much sin arises in my flesh. As long as you keep the faith, you are keeping that which is wellpleasing unto the Lord (Heb 11:6); the Lord will deal with the flesh in due time.

In the days when I wrestled with the lust for women, I just about put myself in hibernation; afraid to go anywhere for fear that I might lust after a woman. In those days, I thought that taking up my cross meant that I should try and overcome my lust by my own will-power; the problem is, no man is able to overcome any of his desires by his own will-power. I wrestled with this lust for several years, and I was no better off than I was in the beginning. I grew so weary not only with this lust, but from also asking the Lord to deliver me without ever having him help me at all. I then asked, "Lord, am I doing something so wrong that you will not hear me concerning this lust". The Lord then answered me and said, "You have not asked me for my truth. You thought that the truth concerned the lust in your flesh; but I am the truth and there dwells no such lust in the truth. Seek and ask for my truth; for my truth will make you free. My truth does not judge or condemn and neither does it accuse or find fault with. All the desires of your flesh are aroused by lies; lies that you say, "You need this" , or that say, "You need that". But the truth is, "I am all that you have need of". Ask me to come in; ask me to come in and be the truth of what to believe. How can you say that you know the truth when you are subject to fleshy desires when my truth sets you free from such things? Only when I, the truth, am in you will you be set free from your desires."

Then the Lord quickened unto me that which is written in Psalm 51:6 "Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom"; and He then joined that word with that which Jesus said in Matt 23:25-26 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within you are full of extortion and excess. You blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also". The Pharisees were just content to cover up their desires with appearances of righteousness, while God sent His son Jesus to us and then made Him to be truth and wisdom for us; the very spiritual gifts from God that cleanses our bodies. Does not the scripture say, "If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives liberally to all men"? The truth and wisdom, though they be gifts from God, they must first be asked for. We do not have only because we do not ask. Is it not written in Romans 8:13 "For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live." Is it not also written that the our heavenly Father gives to us His Spirit when we ask Him? Whatever we ask of the Lord, believing, He shall do. The truth of God and the wisdom of God, they are both spiritual gifts that only come from above. Ask, it shall be given.

I suppose the one thing that most men overlook is just what purpose does a man desire to be delivered from the lust of his flesh? Is it because he just does not want to be addicted to it? Or maybe he feels guilty or condemned? Or maybe he is afraid that his sin will become exposed before other men? No, the Lord delivers us from our sins when our hearts desire is to be delivered so that we may be transformed into the image of his son Jesus Christ. We have all been called to become sons.

One more thing: willful sin. You can only sin willfully "after" you have come to the knowledge of the truth (Hebrews 10:26). That means, you must first be set free from your sin by the truth; then if of your own freewill you return to your desires, then that is willful sin. Paul said, "Those things which I will not to do, those things I do; and those things which I will to do, I do not". Just because you are subject to a desire in your flesh, it does not make a willful sin. Never...never...never forget...when sin abounds, grace abounds that much more. Sometimes, as the Lord says, He makes His grace to be sufficient for you; just to show you that He loves you regardless of what state that you are in. And just like the wisdom and truth of God, we all need to discover for ourselves just how incredible is the love of God that He has towards us all.

Friend, I hope that these things might help encourage your faith in the love of God towards you. Focus on your heavenly Father's love and abilities, and not anything of yourself. Do not focus on your sin but rather focus on the love and grace of God.

Much blessings, and love, and grace be unto you in Christ Jesus.
