BY: DAVID L. WALKER – AUGUST 7, 2002
As I anticipate the battle, I stand with my sword drawn, both edges are shining in HIS illuminating light. My shield is raised in faith, ready as a trained warrior ready for battle. My breastplate is in place and it stands strong and cannot be penetrated for righteousness is its strength. My waist is belted with truth and is as durable as tempered steel. My loins are girded and cannot be shaken for the life of truth that is alive within them.
As the enemy draws near there is only peace. The sandals of a ready warrior stand prepared because of the gospel of peace. As the enemy draws his sword, I buckle my helmet of salvation knowing that the battle is about to begin. I gird up the loins of my mind with the love HE has given me.
As I open my single eye preparing for the battle, I discover the enemy has turned tail and run. I look and see my LORD high and lifted up sitting on HIS white horse with HIS eyes as a flame, hair white as wool and a sharp two-edged sword in HIS mouth.
I realize once again the battle is not mine, but HIS.
