Through Loving Eyes of Grace

BY:  LAURA WALKER

There's a boy sitting on the curb by the street
With a red bandana and red snickers on his feet.
With gun in hand and fear in his heart,
On a new journey he is about to start.
He knows deep inside him, he's about to do wrong,
But the gang makes him feel special and he wants to belong.

He doesn't know there's an option, another time and place.
He doesn't know the Mighty One gazing upon him
THROUGH LOVING EYES OF GRACE.

Oh, the love He longs to pour upon you.
Oh, the mercy He yearns to give.
He alone can show you another way to live.

See the 15 year old mother with her baby bundled tight.
She still can't forget what happened on that hot summer night.
He told her that he loved her and they would never part.

She wanted to believe him so she gave him her heart. The thrill of the knowing,

the desire that they shared, Disappeared to a memory when left alone with a child to care.

She doesn't know there's an option, another time and place.

She doesn't know the Mighty One gazing upon her THROUGH LOVING EYES OF GRACE.

Oh, the love He longs to pour upon.
Oh, the mercy He yearns to give.
He alone can show you another way to live.

Over there is a young man leaning against the wall,
Hoping that he's handsome enough and that he looks muscular and tall.
Never wanting to remember the things that brought him to this place.
In his mind he has justified it, why can't straight people get out of his face.
Ever since he was 6, men singled him out to abuse.
In school they always called him "Gay," so he gave in, he had nothing to loose.

Yes, there are millions of people out there, hungering for something more.
Little children with no direction, men and women sleeping on the steps outside our door.
The Senior Citizen in bondage because no one will give a hand, It's the same for the very rich and the poverty stricken in the land.
Their hearts are all empty, there's no hope it seems inside.
They have believed the lies of the deceiver, who has taken them for a ride.

They don't know that there's an option, another time and place.
They don't know that there's a Mighty God gazing upon them
THROUGH LOVING EYES OF GRACE.
