SOME BENEFITS OF REVELATION KNOWLEDGE
“Dear friends even if I myself should come to you talking some Language you don’t understand. How would that help you? But if I speak plainly what God has revealed to me, and TELL YOU THE THINGS I KNOW, and …that is what will help you”1 Cor 14:6 TLB. “…cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and Revelation IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM” Eph 1: 16 -17. KJV.
The prayer and burden of Apostle
Therefore in considering 1 Cor 14: 6, to speak by knowledge would mean speaking out of that personal conviction and knowledge of the Lord. So, when pastors teach or preach outside of a personal knowledge of that which has been revealed to them, they do not edify the body of Christ. You see one of the major reasons Eve failed and fell to the temptation of the devil was because, she got her information from Adam, a kind of second hand information, which could either mean that Adam did not properly communicate the message or that Eve did not receive it with seriousness and so it was not a revelation to her, but simply an information. But information without a revelation of what you have heard does not deliver even in times of trouble.
DOES YOUR FAMILIARITY WITH THE WORD MEAN YOU KNOW JESUS?
The fact that a man is familiar with the story of the birth of Christ does not mean you know Him. Infact you could not have been more familiar with Jesus than John the Baptist was, they were cousins, six months apart, meaning they were age mates, but the confession of John to this effect when he was demanded by the Pharisees as to his identity that he is not the messiah, but above all that the purpose of baptizing people was to identify Him, for like he said “And I knew him not; but that He should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water” ( Please see John 1: 30 – 34). In other words, knowing the true Christ is more than being a family member or just being so familiar with the word of God. There is more to the word of God than just merely reading it, there has to be a revelation of knowledge of the spirit of the word or else it will become mere letters that killeth. In Lk 24: 13 – 32, we have the story of two men, who were actually the disciples of Jesus walking on the road to Emmaus, talking about the death and resurrection of Jesus, and yet, though He walked along with them, they did not know Him. But in verses 30 -31 we read; “And it came to pass as He sat at meat with them, He took bread, and blessed it, and brake and gave to them, and their eyes were opened, and THEY KNEW HIM. It becomes obvious that knowing the Lord is by divine revelation from Him as well.
HOW DOES GOD WANT US TO KNOW CHRIST TODAY?
“…Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, as though He were merely a human being, how differently I think about Him now…” 2 Cor 5: 16 TLB “For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth” Jn 4: 24 TLB From the above, it is clear that we cannot be seeking to see or know Jesus as a physical being. Our knowledge of the son is the personal experience and revelation of the son (spirit of His son) in us (Gal 1: 15, 4: 6); it is the maturing of this spirit of His son within us that finally will be revealed as the manifestation of the sons of God, corporately, that creation is waiting for (Rom 8: 19, Eph 4: 13, 1: 23
“WHAT ARE THE INDICATIONS OF NOT HAVING OR KNOWING THE SON”?
“So if we continue to live in Him, we won’t sin either, but those who keep on sinning have never known Him or understood who He is” (1 Jn 3: 6) One of the major evidence of the man that has not known him, is his continued sinning habit. It means that the true knowledge of the Lord will deliver one from the power of sin. Why? Because “those who have been born into God’s family do not sin, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they have been born of God” 1Jn 3: 9. God’s life in the above scripture is the incorruptible seed of the Christ life that has been planted in us. The key word is “Practice sinning” meaning, it can no longer be a habit or life style to live in sin and still claim to have known the Lord. In fact the best way to describe a Christian is the man that has known the Lord.
NOW WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF HAVING THE REVELATION KNOWLEDGE OF THE SON OF GOD?
HOW DO WE RECEIVE HIS GRACE TO HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE?
Reading Prov 1: 7, 1 Jn 2: 4, 3: 11 we found that the Lord will unveil Himself to those who are having a reverential worship for Him and keeping His words. The key word is worship, which is how we prepare ourselves to receive anything from the Lord, then contain within the anointing that will be given to us which will release a manifestation of divine knowledge see Isa 28: 9, 1 Jn : 27.
