Conducting the sea.

We watched the waves in ageless to and fro,
my son and I in easy company.

Strong Chi is flowing here he said, and so
I swept my arms wide open to the sea
which suddenly lept upwards from the rocks so far below,
and yes I seemed to feel an energy
go radiating outwards and come surging back to me.
In wonderment we felt it come and go;
impossible communion, recondite affinity,
as if the sea had power to bestow
a blessing, give and take in some degree:
we'd gesture, waves would leap, in seeming reciprocity.

He said I must have tuned in to the flow.
and yet my logic says this cannot be.
