the arrival date
I haven't seen her
for a week, you
know the story
guess I'll have
to learn to keep
my mouth shut
it's my downfall
with her

though she's just
as likely to show up
today with the baby
held between us
as a peacemaker
or bribe

the bus arrives
at 8 40pm
think I'll know
where to go
probably be early
& if it's cold I'll
have to smoke in
the car

can't wait to see you
got food in yesterday
took a chicken out
to thaw
I've never been in the
arrivals terminal before
