Our primary objective is to ensure the survival of the public ceremonial aspects of the office of Lord Mayor of Norwich.
Our aims are:
- To provide independent and public support to the office of the Lord Mayor of Norwich and encourage the pomp , circumstance, civic pride, and traditions of the office as part of the ceremonial and social life of the City.
- The support will be provided without asking or demanding financial or other remuneration.
- The Whifflers will, so far as is possible, provide their own dress and costumes, together with the associated accouterments, goods and chattels in the style and manner indicated by research into the history of the City of Norwich and as worn and used by previous generations of Whifflers and other traditional characters.
In order to achieve the above aims and objective
- We will approach any charity or organisation who we think or believe share at least some part of our aims in an effort to promote the Whifflers and their activities and for the provision of monies, goods or services that will enable us to continue.
