Although not everyone wants to compete, but those that want to have the opportunity to compete
in the largest martial arts competitions ever staged in this country and abroad, with literally
hundreds of champions coming out of the Ellesmere Port and Neston clubs over recent years. The
clubs themselves have been area champions nine times out of the last eleven annual area
championships, attaining record scores in the process. Competition isn’t necessarily sparring against
an opponent, performing the patterns you learn towards your grades and being marked on your
performance is just one other aspect of competition, but even if you aren’t inclined towards
competition, then Ellesmere Port and Neston’s training system has something for you.

Aspects of Tae Kwon Do cover fitness and flexibility, self confidence, self awareness, self discipline,
self belief, self defence, sport and mental training, amongst many others. It is up to the individual to
say what they each take out of Tae Kwon Do, but everyone makes it a change for the better.
