Miss Dawn

Dawn has always had a caring nature and a love for children. It all began with her volunteer work at the North Salem United Methodist Church's Sunday School program when she was just 14 years old. Today she is the backbone of her church's Christian Education Program. She has gained over 26 years of experience there.

Dawn graduated from college with High Honors in 1991. She was presented with one of only two awards given for "Excellence in Academics" in the field of Early Childhood Education. As an ambitious student, Dawn juggled class work, on site practicum experiences in Massachusettes preschools and a job. Her position was Afternoon Supervisor at a day care center in Hampstead NH. Opening North Salem Preschool was a natural path for her to follow.

In the past 16 years, North Salem Preschool has blossomed into one of the best educational facilities in the area. It certainly is an asset to Salem and surrounding communities. Dawn continues to research to find the newest trends in education. Striving for excellence in the field, she has attended the SDE (Staff Development for Educators) convention for many years. In her spare time, Dawn studies the Polynesian cultures with an emphasis on dance. She has appeared on the children's program, "Caitlyn's Rainbow."

Miss Bev

Bev has a kind heart. Many have described her as a gentle nurturer. She taught Sunday School for many years. She even missed her own college graduation to be present at a special event for her beloved students. After her own daughters grew up, she started working with children in a family day care setting. Being around the little ones really made her happy. When her daughter Dawn opened North Salem Preschool in 1992, she eagerly joined the team as an Assistent Teacher.

Bev has worked at the facility for all its 16 years of operation. She has grown in her knowledge of educating and guiding young learners. Bev continues to take courses and attend workshops, including the prestigious Staff Development for Educators convention. In the 70's, Bev started learning about the Polynesian culture. She loves to dance. Both she and Dawn have appeared on the Children's Program, "Caitlyn's Rainbow." In addition, Bev was featured in an episode of the children's show, "Pelican Park."
