How are we different?

Evaluations

Students at North Salem Preschool receive a yearly skill evaluation. We have a 30 minute conference with each parent of a preschool or kindergarten student.

Open Door Policy

The preschool has an open door policy. you may come to observe your child in class at any time. Mid-year conferences are scheduled in March. Year-end conferences are scheduled at the request of the parent.

Fieldtrips

In spring and fall we have 2 field trips per month (apple picking, library, The Met Children's Museum, grocery store, bowling...)

1-on-1 Pre-reading Instruction

Students at North Salem Preschool benefit from weekly one-on-one pre-reading instruction. A current alumni of our program, who is currently in 1st grade, just tested in the 99th percentile in reading (regional and national) on the Gates-MacGinitie Reading Test.

Snacks

No student should be without nutritious and energizing snacks to keep them happy and learning. Here at North Salem Preschool each student receives free snacks during snack time.
