Hello and Welcome to Northern Diamond Kennels. We are a small kennel of Alaskan huskies, Eurohounds and American Pit Bull Terriers. We are located in Two Rivers Alaska, mushing capital of the world. There are thousands of miles of trails right out our front door. We mostly mush for fun, and enter races as time and money allow. Our focus is mid distance events, like the Quest 300. Someday we hope to run the Yukon Quest. UPDATE: we have changed our focus to stage races. We will be running our pups, (they will be 18 months old when training begins in the fall) in some local sprint races and there are a few stage type races near home that are in the making for the 2007-2008 year. Our kennel is looking more like a sprint kennel (hounds) this year due to those pups, and I just do not feel they have enough coat to run distance races, maybe they do, but I am just more comfortable with shorter races for them, so they do not have to stay out on the trail for a week or more. The most important thing to us is to have a good time, keep the dogs happy and healthy and enjoy the scenery. All our dogs are like members of the family, the sled dogs all get to spend time in the house and the pit bulls even share the bed.
